I found this pair of exquisite elephants in a wood carving artisan workshop in Madurai, India. Apparently these elephants were hand carved by artists who take 6 to 7 weeks to carve each elephant. These magnificent carvings are a unique, distinctive and individual work of art that stand worlds apart from mass-produced merchandise. I was also assured by the artisan that the pair of woodcarvings were made from fast growing, non-endangered wood from managed plantations or recycled timber without danger to the environment.Item Condition: New
